Gertrudes 125
Project Objective:
Develop a building renovation project that involves a practical redistribution of the interior layout and highlights the historical details of both buildings’ facades. As part of the project, the planned premises will be converted into modern, high-class apartments. The former owner of the buildings painted both buildings in a uniform color, masking their beauty and combining the two buildings into a single block. Facades should be divided and the architectural features of each building should be highlighted.
Final Outcome:
Due to the poor technical condition of the building, many of its structural elements need to be rebuilt. This opened up potential for creative and useful interior redesign of the building. This includes the conversion of the existing unusable attic floor into usable apartments, as well as the conversion of the basement ceiling, opening up new areas for the construction of two-story apartments. At the same time, the dimensions of the building and the layout of the load-bearing elements make it possible to create individual and unique apartments to suit every taste.
The final result of the project will be 16 new apartments, including three two-story apartments and four large attic apartments. The facades of the buildings will be restored, dividing and highlighting the architecture of both individual buildings. At the same time, the roof was rebuilt, adding classic roof windows, giving the attic floor practicality and the roof classic elegance.
